IJOK .....Santa is in town

First of all, I would like to wish my condolences to ex-ADUN IJOK K.Sivalinggam's family.
The fact that a soul (innocent or not, not an issue) has been lost is saddening.
BUT I WAS MORE THAN FLABBERGASTED to hear Samy Velu's comment that says 'we have lost a leader'!!! WHAT F**K!!!!

Tell me about someone in Machap, I wouldn't know...but IJOK!
I AM FROM IJOK!
I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THAT hill-mole town!

With the announcement of BY-ELECTION, suddenly the state government has RM36Million budget to be spent in and around IJOK! WOW!!!!

I have not registered myself as a voter, hence I won't be able to vote this coming 28th April. Furthermore, being settled in Singapore doesn't help me to travel all the way there and vote for PKR? May be.

But I would like to see my town to be developed.

Not sure where the RM36Million will be spent, whether it will be spent entirely or not is for another discussion...but my dear fellow people...please, please make sure you benefit the most out of this BY-ELECTION.

Get the government to fix all these issues ASAP! Offer expires on 29th April, regardless of the outcome of the election.

1) To resume the public transportation service from Batang Berjuntai town to at least 4 major estates from Rantau Panjang onwards. The kids and the public from these areas are now merely depending on school & factory buses.

2) Beef-up (I'm not talking about serving the meat) the police force in Batang Berjuntai to BRING DOWN the crime rate in this town! IT IS AT ALL TIME HIGH! I believe. This statement is of my own opinion and not based on any stats. As though there are stats given out, anyway.

3) Spend the money to build and include SCIENCE STREAM classes in SM. Rantau Panjang. Why it has been neglected all this while? Because, that school is populated by indian students from estates? I was one of such student affected by this.

4) Dumping site around Kg. Hang Tuah? Has it been removed? I don't think so! GET IT DONE NOW!

5) Clean up all the drainage system around all residential areas in the town! It's bloody piled up with garbage! And that causes mosquito breeding happily, not sure if they have a voting rights as well? May be? Who knows.

6) Plug all the pot-holes in town (I heard this is in progress right now).

7) Arrange meet-the-people session every 6 months once (at least) for the ADUN to take a walk in his constituency to find out what is happening! A proof that they don't know and don't care is that I saw a banner put up by late K.Sivalinggam 'ADUN Kaw. Ijok Mengucapkan Selamat tahun Baru Cina 2002'. Mind you, that banner was up in year 2005! Can you at least change the year.

8) Promote more social integration in the society, get the jobless, vandalising youths (mostly Indians, but Chinese and Malays are never far behind) to do SOMETHING other than I have mentioned here. NOW, YOU THINK OF WHAT TO DO!

9) Get the Ministry of Health to check (regularly) on all restaurants in the town. Try taking a peek at their kitchen!

10) Finally, please expand the town-ship beyond the hill. It is getting congested! After so many year, it has JUST expanded slightly beyond the mole.

Please do this for us at least!

A PLEA from an IJOK-ian.

At the Brink....

Dear All,

again....i have collection of things to update in a single entry...no time lah...so sorry ok...

first of all, My Valentine's Dinner went VERY VERY WELL....
Here's what I planend to do before consulting a few friends who have been excellent....especially Pu1Pu3, AnaSalwa, Ariel and not forgetting my dear Cute Nitha...

Valentines Preparation
1. Buy Roses and spread the petals from the door of living room to the bedroom where I am going to place a small gift for her.
2. I will be waiting for in the bedroom, with dim lights on, and 3 stalks of roses with me.
3. Then I am going to lead her to the dining room where I have prepared it like these

Ambience
1) Buy table runner (dark maroon – she loves it) for dining table
2) Spread more rose petals on the table
3) Lit up some long, skinny candles placed in a wine glass, filled with white sand pebbles…..got this idea from some book….
4) Prepare her plate with fork and spoon and a red rose stalk on it.
5) Get a table napkin as well.
6) Serve her the dishes….(refer to my dishes menu below….what you think)

Menu (Fusion menu)
1) Vegetable salad with Thousand Island dressing for appetizer
2) Small portion of rice served with Dried Chilly Chicken (mock meat) with gravy
3) Beans with almond nut in thick gravy soy sauce + chilly sauce
4) Round shaped fried egg.
5) Vanilla Ice Cream with choc syrup for dessert

4. After the dinner, I am planning to watch a romantic movie (on DVD) with her…any suggestion what will be short (around 1 hour or slightly longer) and really romantic….

*****************************************

After consultation, time constraint, budget constraint.....finally this is what Ms Dinner Date actually got on that nite...

Firstly, I was late for shopping had some business issues to deal with….
So I started my shopping only at 4.pm while she is supposed to come back home at 7.30!

I couldn’t find white pebbles for candle stand and table runner…

So I bought everything I could and rushed home and started cooking at 5.30

By 7.15 I started spreading the petals from main door straight to bedroom where I have placed the dress I wanted her to wear.
A nice maroon top with pink skirt. I matched it with my own maroon shirt. The flower spread lead straight to the bathroom, where I also spread the flowers in the bathroom.

I also placed candles along the petal path.

I left note on the front door ‘Please use your key to open the door and follow the flower+candle path. DO NOT LOOK FOR ME’
Another note in the bedroom door ‘Take a good shower, at least 15 mins’ (so that I will have time to prepare the dinner table….

Once she went into the bedroom… I rearranged the flower path and candles to lead her to the dining room…..
I was waiting with a small bouquet and a table decorated with rose petals and 3 big candles….

I really went into fusion meal! I guess so….
I cooked rice with roasted cashew nuts and raisins, Malay style mock-chicken rendang, Chinese style sweet+sour tofu and Indian style vegetable…
As for dessert I bought Famous Amos brownies (3 different types) topped with Haagen Dazs Vanilla ice cream and a slice of strawberry…

We had the meal with coke ….while latin lounge music playing in the background….had no time to look for new CDs …

After the meal I asked her for a dance... in the living room…..

And both of us had a good time….

****************************************

How was that? I dunno.....but i really think she enjoyed it...

Alright, thats on the personal front...

As of my business......i am feeling the pressure right now.
Too many things to be sorted, too many things to work on, too many bugs to fix...

But, as of now...we are only confirming 1 major project. AT THE BRINK!. Just some T&C to be sorted out, but nevertheless the project is confirmed. So, thats one. We have 3 more in the pipeline waiting to be confirmed. Hopefully everything works well.

I have been working like mad-dog for the past 1 week.....didn't even watch the Magnificent MU scoring 3 goals in the opening 6 minutes against Reading, and proceeded to crumble and win the game by mere 3-2 score! Guys....please buck up...Anfield is awaiting our visit....

NOTE
Dear KG,
When are you coming down bro? Just alert me ok.....
So sorry for the super late reply.....Call me ok....if u still have my number...

....too many things to say...

hi guys....

Initially i started off as a daily blogger...
then transformed to a phot blogger briefly before going back to normal daily blogger.
After some time, I couldn't keep up I turned to be occasional blogger. Even then, I use to blog almost twice a week. die die

Now, I have became Festival Blogger (happens only 5 - 6 times a year)....

Anyway, from my last post till now a lot of things happened.

Firstly, 19th Dec, the day I lost my mum 2 years back (can you believe it!) came and went.
Well, we suppose to have a prayer for her at home...but after consulting religious astrologer the date which is most auspicious was 7th Jan 2007.

Let me explain briefly, for Indians, the first death anniversary will have to checked with the astrologer before performing the prayer. There is a significant reason to it as well.

If the first year prayer date falls before the actual date it is believed that the soul have completed its life cycle and have achieved moksha. Meaning, no more re-birth. But if the date falls after the actual death (like mums') the soul have not completed the cycle and will be back in another living form. Not necessarily as a human of course.

What ever the case is, my brothers and sisters decided to go back to mum's place on the 19th Dec to stay together for few days. Well, I wanted to leave on the 17th but due to last minute meetings changed the plan to leave on the 18th Dec night.

Unfortunately, right after I reached home on the 18th, I started coughing, vomitting, felt feverish and fall sick! I even almost had asthma revisting me! Thankfully dinner date was there to cook, and look after me. Poor girl....had to watch me shivering through the nite! Sorry dear.

And so it happened, I couldn't make it back home. Sorry mum.

Even before I fall sick, I was suffering from serious back pain. My pelvis (near my tail bone) was aching extremely! I even went for xray and blood test but nothing was detected. I have lost 5kg in 1 month during that period and lost my appetite too. Strange.

So, for Xmas and New Year I was practically at home alone, as Ms Dinner Date was working. I cooked for us and had a good dinner, of my standard of course. She is a better cook than me. :)

And so, it happened on the 3rd my server (which is very essential for web based companies) started crashing gradually....I was going through nightmare to get it fixed by 5th so that I could make it back home for prayers. I prayed so hard, that I never realised I am such a pious Hindu.
I could only manage to get it up temporarily by re-starting it everytime it's down. I hoped it will remain like that until I am back so I could really get down to fix it once and for all.

I managed to take a coach back home on the 5th afternoon. Proceeded with the prayers, while monitoring the server in Singapore remotely. Just like how Pak Lah monitored the flood in Johor while busy attending the opening ceremony of 'Puteri Nasi Kandar' outlet which belongs to his brother in Perth!

Fate has decided that, the server will crash completely on Monday afternoon! I have already bought a coach ticket back to Singapore which is scheduled to depart at 3.30. But it will be all too late. Hence I had to fork out cash to take a flight back to Singapore to get the server up.

Once reaching Singapore, I rushed down to DataCenter to try my best to get the server up and running. By then I have started receiving numerous calls and emails from clients complaining thath the server is down. Thankfully it only affected the web server and not the email server.

After trying numerous methods and everything I have learned in IT industry for the past 9 year, I was only able to recover the data and not the OS. So the server cannot be started! CHAOS! That's what it spells. I realised, thats there is nothing much to be done except to get the server replaced. $$$

My company is new, got $$$ meh!

FORTUNATELY, the cash flow within the company has been healthy so far. So we took the short term solution which can last for 12 months at least for now. Spent a few hundred bucks to get a DIY server and set it up first. AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE DID! SERVER IS UP, CLIENTS HAPPY! AND I'M RELIEVED!

As for my company progress, no projects confirmed thus far. 'After CNY we confirm ok' is what I have hearing often nowadays. Well, can't blame them....they are already dreaming of Dragon Dance and Fire-Cracker. As long as I can have Mandarin Orange, I have no issues with it! :)

So, that about it for now....

How's things have been for you guys? Do drop me a line or two ok....

Chiow.

Keeping my fingers crossed....

Well...as the dust settles down...it is also clearer that...now my life's new motto will be
'WORK...IF YOU WANT MONEY!'... he he he

Running, your own business means more risk more money and more time is essential....

So far, the response on my business....have been quite good...
we have already submitted proposal for 2 5-digit figure projects...
One of it being quite a medium5-digit and the other low 5-digit...

so far, the chances for the low 5-digit are quite high..in terms of the chances we have to land the project so...we are really hoping to land one before the end of the year...

as for the medium 5-digit....i will really have to wait for some sort of response before saying anything at all.

There are already 2 requests for proposal....which I'm working on today. It's Xmas afternoon...but i'm working. Well, this is how it's going to be from now onwards....

Apart from all those mentioned above we also have a Government tendered project in pipeline...which has agreed to transfer to my new company under certain conditions. This project belongs to the previous company, but when I wanted to transfer to my new company the rules didn't allow that. So, I was quite upset. As being a government, they are a very good paymaster and its really good to have their name in your list of projects....anytime.

And so it happens, after a chit chat with person in charge last week....there seems to be a way we can get it done. Legally, and following the procedures of course. Hopefully, we can get it done ASAP.

As I believe, having 1 project in the bag is better than having 10 projects in the waiting list.

mmm....life has changed for me completely now......

I'm back....

HI GUYS!!!!!...

I'm back from such a long hiatus....

what happened you ask? Well a lot of things happened, on my career and personal life front.

Let the personal be personal for now...will reveal once everything is clearer....

But I really want to share with you guys about my career front...

I HAVE QUIT MY JOB!!!!....
Yup...you read it right...I have quit my job. My last day with me previous company was on the 30th Nov....been idle since then. Anyway, the previous company is closing down.

Now what?
Well, I have started my own IT solutions company in Singapore. Of course not doing it alone, not yet at least. I have started it with a partner. Not only that, I have spoken my ex-boss to transfer all her clients to my new business. And she gladly okayed the idea. She is the most wonderful boss anyone can ask for.....seriously....

With all the clients transferred to my own company now, we have already have a good basis to work on.

We have also rented an office space to operate, with my boss 'sponsoring' some of the furnitures too....(told you she is the greatest!)....

So, from 1st Jan 2007, I'm officially under my own company's payroll. I'm taking a break now just to re-charge myself before going full swing with my new venture.

YES! Finally I can call myself an entreprenuer.

So guys, please pray for my business to do well and for me to succeed this endeavour.

All the preparations for the business, like sourcing the office, getting the paper works done, opening bank accounts, office setup, and other works have kept me busy all this while.

But, everything is in place now. NO WAY I'M THINKING OF BACKING OFF! The only option I have now is TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! I'm very sure I can with extra hard work....

Wish me luck guys!!!!!
